The long list of Jennifer Lopez Movies started back in 1995, when she gained significant recognition for her role in the action thriller Money Train. She took on another supporting role in 1996 in Jack, a comedy that starred Robin Williams. She starred with Jack Nicholson in the thriller Blood and Wine in the same year. Just a few months later Jennifer went on to have her first solo leading role in 1997, when she played the character of Selena, in the biographical movie of the same name.

Her role would see her picking up her first ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress and a Golden Globe Award nomination. That same year she went on to star in two major movie hits, Anaconda and U Turn. Her second ALMA Award was to come along a year later for her performance in the movie Out of Sight. This movie would be a major milestone in her career as she became the first ever Latino actress to earn over $1 million for her role. This was just the start of a long line of Jennifer Lopez Movies that would continue as we moved into the 21st century.

Lopez went on to star opposite Vincent D'Onofrio in 2000 when she took on the role of Catherine Deane, a child psychologist, in the movie Cell. The movie was a huge success, opening at the number one position. Jennifer Lopez took a short break from her acting to concentrate more on her music career. A very smart decision, as she became the first actress and singer to have both an album and a movie both at number one at the same time. The album was J.Lo and the movie was the rom-com The Wedding Planner, where she starred alongside Matthew McConaughey.

She has several parts to play in quick succession when she went on to have a role in the supernatural romance Angel Eyes in 2001 and the psychological thriller Enough in 2002. While both these movies pretty much failed, she was back at the top very fast with her spectacular role, as a struggling single mother, Marisa Ventura in the huge romatic comedy hit Maid in Manhattan. This Jennifer Lopez movie was a huge box office hit.

Two independant Jennifer Lopez Movies that were received well at film festivals were El Cantante at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Bordertown at the Brussels film festival. She has also had great reviews for other movies such as An Unfinished Life and Shall we Dance. In 2005 she had only a small degree of success with her role in the movie Monster in Law. Although she did much better in her role in the comedy The Back-up Plan.
